PPG Automotive Refinish Team Tours the Middle East

PPG's Automotive Refinish Business team toured the Middle East in April and May with a series of exclusive roadshows. The purpose of the roadshows was to promote the PPG company and its products, colour tools and MVP BUSINESS SOLUTIONS® Services to help bodyshops in the region to increase their profitability.

Kuwait, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia were the main stops of these interesting and well-attended roadshows, which sought to add value to customers using PPG and NEXA AUTOCOLOR® Refinish products while increasing the visibility of PPG’s Automotive Refinish brands.

The roadshows were arranged by PPG's Automotive Refinish Business team members Bulend Alpay, Serdar Gurses, Andrea Petroli, Dayanand Shetty, Praveen Kalia, Alberto González and Juan Navarro in collaboration with various local partners, all of them leaders in the automotive Refinish industry within their respective localities: Al Sayer (Kuwait), Nehmeh (Doha), Galadari (Dubai), CEP (Jeddah) and ICEP (Dammam).

Sponsored by Nexa Autocolor partners, the roadshows were held in Kuwait (10th April), Doha (11th April), Dubai (13th April) and Jeddah (2nd May), while PPG organized the event in Dammam (3rd May). Owners and managers of automobile businesses and bodyshops, as well as diplomats and other dignitaries from throughout these countries were among the 40-80 people attending each event. At each roadshow location, the Refinish team showed the most efficient processes for achieving higher bodyshop productivity using the latest innovative products and industry-leading colour tools.

Refinish team speakers welcomed attendees by introducing PPG Industries and its different business units and highlighting the company’s expertise within the OEM automotive sector as an important source of knowledge for the Refinish industry. This was followed by a demonstration of the latest Refinish developments currently gaining strength within the region, which include waterborne products and colour tools, such as RAPIDMATCH™. Later, the team explained how MVP Business Solutions services help bodyshops improving their profitability by always aligning with market needs.

The PPG Academy, a key topic of the roadshow, was highlighted in the final presentation. The Refinish team shared insights about the Academy, which consists of a training plan for management boards and heads of production and comprises various topics: bodyshop management, main financial KPIs, paintshop throughput and lean methodology.

These roadshows were the PPG team’s first steps on a path towards gaining greater visibility in the Middle East. The team’s key to success: understanding customers’ needs and implementing suitable solutions to achieve their shared goals.
