MVP transforms bodyshop layout and design service

Our colleagues have been using remote working and virtual collaboration to accelerate the launch of an enhanced three-dimensional (3D) bodyshop layout solution. Following a successful implementation pilot, our customers across EMEA Region are taking profit of this new service.

For collision repairers who are considering building a new location, renovating an existing facility, or just improving the layout of their current facility to achieve better workflow, the MVP Bodyshop Layout Design Service is the ideal service to start. Until now, layout designs have been provided in a two-dimensional (2D) drawing format, but this is all changing thanks to the implementation of new visualisation software, which enables bodyshop owners and managers to see digital designs brought to life in 3D.

“Over the last couple of years, we have recognised an increased demand from the refinish market for a 3D layout solution. The software we chose had to be accurate, easy to use and create the desired WOW effect when presented to potential customers,” explains Dejan Zivkovic, Business Solutions Manager, CEMTA.


Towards the end of 2019, Rafael Escudero, Digital Solutions Analyst EMEA, was given the task of investigating and testing various software programs. He adds: “To find a program that could create 3D bodyshops was not difficult. The challenge was all our MVP leaders across Europe using the same software, so we aimed something easy to learn and highly powerful.”

During the following weeks, quarantine provided an opportunity for the MVP Business Solutions team to develop their 3D software skills, using it to create their own sample layouts. To make this easier, Rafael Escudero created initial training material and a user guide.

On 14th May, ten MVP experts from EMEA also completed a remote advanced training course. This session was expected to be delivered face to face in Barcelona, with all team members, but due to the current situation it was conducted over a four-hour video call instead. Participants explored new tips, video creation and various ways to improve their layouts.

This latest 3D bodyshop layout solution, combined with the new skills acquired by MVP leaders, will allow us to increase the value we offer to our PPG Refinish customers.
