From 5th to 7th September, the PPG site in Lainate hosted the first Lean Six Sigma training course in Italy. The course, part of the MVP BUSINESS SOLUTIONS® program, was attended by five of the most advanced bodyshops in Italy.
The MVP Business Solutions Italian manager, Walter Villella, organized an exclusive two-day training course called “Introduction to Green Belt”. Two participants per bodyshop were invited to the event, which turned out to be highly valuable for these very specific PPG clients. They are innovative bodyshops interested in adopting Lean Six Sigma for managing their businesses with PPG support.
The aim of the course was to analyze and deepen the Lean methodology through MVP Business Solutions services in order to help bodyshops maximize their productive efficiency while reducing both waste and cycle times
At an early stage in the training program, the MVP Business Solutions Central Team trained local leaders so they would be ready to directly instruct bodyshops in their regions.
The training program has now reached a second stage of maturity. Local managers, such as Walter Villella, hold courses to deliver the knowledge to customers while gaining first-hand expertise from customers.
This training is a state-of-the-art initiative among paint providers in the Italian market and has received positive feedback. Participants claim the course has enabled them to apply the principles of Lean methodology to their bodyshops’ daily work and increase profits.
The September course was an initial pilot experience of Lean courses scheduled for the coming months. The goal is to expand the number of bodyshops benefiting from MVP Business Solutions services
